Following her graduation from UCC in 1997 (Archaeology & Sociology), Margaret worked for a number of Irish archaeological consultancies, rising to a supervisor level. In 2005 she completed an MA in Landscape Archaeology (NUIG), after which she joined TVAS (Ireland) Ltd.

Since 2007 Margaret has worked as an Archaeological Director with TVAS, managing archaeological projects and sites of varying scale and complexity, from assessment stage through to excavation, post-excavation and report/publication production.

Other employments include Senior Finds Manager with the Qatar Islamic Archaeology and Heritage Project (2013), Tús Team Leader (Heritage) with Ballyhoura Development Ltd.(2014-2016) and Information Officer /Guide with the Office of Public Works (2012-2013).

In addition Margaret has an extensive volunteering record, working on archaeological research excavations, with the Clare Oral History and Folklore Group (www.clarememories.ie), in museums and libraries/archives, with schools and on various community projects.
