Following her graduation from University College Cork in 1997, Margaret worked for a number of archaeological consultancies throughout Ireland on a variety of site types (prehistoric to post-medieval) on large and small-scale developments in rural and urban settings, reaching the position of supervisor in a few years. Margaret completed an MA in Landscape Archaeology in 2005, directly after which she joined TVAS (Ireland) Ltd.

Since 2007 she has directed sites (prehistoric to post-medieval) and managed projects with TVAS, working on small and large-scale developments, including large infrastructure projects such as the M7 and M11. Margaret has also been involved in post-excavation work, contributing to archaeological and historical background research, scheme monographs and has accumulated a number of (as yet unpublished) report authorships.

Aside from her archaeological work, Margaret is also an executive member of Cuimhneamh an Chláir – Clare Oral History and Folklore Group.
