Amy developed an early interest in archaeology when given a subscription to National Geographic at the age of 2, and began her archaeologial career volunteering on a local excavation in Co. Clare as a teenager.
While studying archaeology at I.T. Sligo, she worked on a number of excavations in Ireland, France and Spain. After graduation, Amy began working with TVAS on the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme, continuing on as part of the post-excavation team.
